Whats on my credit report?
The main parts of your report are the identification information, the
payment history, inquiries, and public records.
The identification information includes your name,
Social Security number, year of birth, current and previous addresses,
current and previous employers.
The payment history includes loans, credit cards,
revolving accounts, mortgage payments, etc.. It indicates, for each
month, whether you were current or delinquent, and if so, by how long.
It may indicate your credit limit and monthly payments. Derogatory
information may include repossessions, foreclosures, collections, charge-offs, or claims.
If you have public records such as liens, judgments, or
bankruptcies, they will likely be shown.
Finally, your report shows recent inquiries
companies whove ordered your credit report to consider granting you
credit.
Inquiries that were made by you are only visible by you. Lender's don't know that you've inquired, and your inquiries don't count against your credit score.
Whats Not on my Credit Report?
Race, religion, medical history, political party, criminal record,
and information not related to credit is not shown on a credit report. Also,
credit reports don't show your income.
